A prominent figure in the educational realm, takes a definitive endeavor to reshape education in Jordan. A Senator in the Upper House of the Jordanian Parliament (Jordanian Senate) for the second session, the Superintendent of the Ahliyyah School for Girls and the Bishop’s School for Boys, she was selected amongst the most powerful women in Jordan in the Jordan Business Magazine in 2008 and 2014, and amongst the most 200 powerful women in the Arab World in Forbes Middle East Magazine in 2014. She is also a member of King Abdullah Fund for Development (KAFD) Board of Trustees, the head of the Technical Committee of The Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education, a member of the Council of Education in Jordan, a member of the National Committee for Human Resources Development and a member of the National Council of Competitiveness and Innovation, member of the Board of Trustees of the Middle East University, Amman. Mrs. Najjar was the President of The Business and Professional Women Association in Amman, a founding member of the Board of Trustees of The King’s Academy, a member of the Economic and Social Council in Jordan and the Head of its Educational Policies Committee, and a Board Member of The Greater Municipality of Amman in addition to many others.

Internationally, Mrs. Najjar is an elected member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). She was an elected member of the IB Regional Heads Representative Committee (RHRC-IBO), the IB International Heads Representative Committee (IHRC-IBO), the IB Regional Advisory Committee (RAC-IBO), the IB Advisory Board for the International Directors (Heads Council-IB) and the IB Strategic Advisory Board for the Regional Directors (Regional Council-IB) (IBAEM Region).   She was also chairwoman of the Regional Heads Representative Committee (RHRC) from 2006-2007.

Haifa Najjar has received many awards including the Founding Trustee Award presented by His Majesty King Abdullah II and King’s Academy in appreciation of her educational services, the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) Award for the Promotion of International Education, the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East Shield for the continuous service, and Certificate of Honours from The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East. These awards and memberships strongly reflect Mrs. Najjar’s commitment to her educational mission of empowering youth to create a more peaceful, more humane and enlightened world for the future of humanity.
