Vimochana and Trans4m discuss Potential of Integral University for India

Vimochana, one of India’s foremost initiatives for Women’s Rights, and Trans4m hold initial workshop in Bangalore to explore the potential of an Integral University for India. […]Upon invitation of Dr. Corinne Kumar, founder of Vimochana, and Donna Fernandes, long-standing member of Vimochana’s leadership team, Trans4m was invited into the headquarters of Vimochana for a workshop to share its perspective of an Integral University and its relevance for India. Trans4m’s co-founder Alexander Schieffer shared the importance for universities to go beyond conventional individualised education, and become integral agencies for societal renewal, including transformative education, innovation-driven research, community activation and consciousness awakening.

Subsequently Trans4m was invited by Vimochana to design a longer workshop for Vimochana’s Open University, engaging participants in co-creating an Integral University perspective for India. Of particular relevance emerged a meaningful reconnection of such a new university perspective to India’s own knowledge grounds.
