25 September 25 202: TRANS4M and Trans4m Communiversity Associates (TCA) celebrated a momentous occasion with their local-global partners and allies by collectively acknowledging and awarding PHD-(Process of Holistic Development)-Certificates to their fellows and research associates Aneeqa Malik and Robert Dellner.
The Process for Holistic Development (dubbed “BIG PHD”) Programme was developed by TRANS4M a number of years ago, to provide gifted Agents of Transformation with an alternative road to the conventional academic PhD and with a process fully dedicated to supporting them in their aspiration and ability to engage in transdisciplinary knowledge creation and generate an integral social innovation in their unique life and work contexts. Working with TRANS4M’s CARE process, this particular program is geared for Societal Impact.
The occasion was historic, as Dellner and Malik were the first graduates of the Process for Holistic Development Program. Certificates were jointly granted by TRANS4M and its partner organisation TCA Trans4m Communiversity Associates.
The PHD VIVA presentations and subsequent ceremony took place virtually (of course!) and were joined by their respective communities from around the world. Participants from Pakistan, England, Ireland, Spain, Nigeria and Zimbabwe actively engaged in the question and answer session, following each presentation.
Aneeqa Malik started her I-CARE-4-Society (PHD) module alongside the TRANS4M academic PhD cohort supporting their research by elucidating the Eastern realm (Culture & Spirituality) of the GENE rhythm of TRANS4M’s Integral Worlds approach with her Sufi (mystical) philosophy from South Asian region of Pakistan. Her full CARE round has given birth to an innovative developmental economic model which the calls “Soulidarity Economy”. This model is fully elaborated in her book ‘Integral Finance: Akhuwat – A Case Study of Soulidarity Economy’, co-authored with Akhuwat’s founder Muhammad Amjad Saqib.
Robert Dellner, on the other hand, originally started his PhD journey with the Trans4m-Da Vinci program which thereafter transcended to the “BIG PHD”. Fully embracing TRANS4M’s ‘integral impulse’, Dellner gave birth to a new framework to Integral Impact Investment (I3) measurement. The Integral architecture and technology are ideal to build a full spectrum Impact approach on. His PHD journey is a true story of being, becoming, knowing, and doing in and for Impact capital. Combining finance & economics with depth psychology, and his 30 years of banking career, Dellner, in his recently published book ‘An Introduction to Integral Impact Investment: Building a Full-spectrum Approach to Investing’, brings out the deeper aspects and meanings of money and how to best align and integrate capital and consciousness.
The VIVA attendees praised the depth and breadth of the achievements of Malik & Dellner; they also appreciated TRANS4M & TCA’s efforts for providing a creative platform to liberate knowledge-creation from the shackles of Mode 1 hierarchal structures. Indeed, a new dawn has broken heralding a new age for Mode 2,3,4 knowledge creation – a BIG PHD – which is a Holistic Process of Re-GENE-rating and CARE-ing for one’s society.
The ceremony closed with Bob Marley’s Redemption Song, celebratory sung by colleagues from Providence Human Capital (PHC), Zimbabwe – reminding all participants of the need for “emancipation from mental slavery” – a keynote of this “BIG PHD” program.
Stay tuned to this space, as we expect a number of other PHD programme participants to graduate in the near future.
