Father Anselm Adodo introduces Communitalism to Nigeria and passes his PhD

On May 20, 2016, the 27th anniversary of his admission to the Ewu Monastery, Father Anselm Adodo successfully passed his PhD VIVA presentation as the final milestone in his PhD with Trans4m and Da Vinci on Integral Development….More then 30 Nigerian academics, community activists and social innovators witnessed the Viva presentation and were impressed by his theory of Communitalism, as an African alternative to western capitalist or communist ideologies. In his Viva, and the subsequent community presentation, Father Anselm shared theory and practice of Communitalism, and illustrated the impact on Paxherbals and Ewu Community to a group of about 100 local and regional guests. Communitalism depicts a development model that integrates a community perspective (pax communis, represented by Ewu Village), a spiritual perspective (pax spiritus, represented by Ewu Monastery), a knowledge perspective (pax scientia, represented by the newly founded ACIRD Africa Center for Integral Research and Development) and an economic perspective (pax economia, represented in this case by Paxherbals)

After the presentation, Father Anselm and a group of key co-creators of this unique piece of theoretical and practical work, received the Trans4m CARE Award, among them Brother Peter (the prior of Ewu Monastery, representing the monastic community), Brother Michael and Brother John Chinedu (Pax Herbals), the EDEMCS president and Mrs Rachel (representing Ewu Village) and Father Anselm (representing ACIRD).

Altogether this day marked a huge milestone not only for Ewu Village, Ewu Monastery and Ewu Village, but also for the entire Trans4m movement in Nigeria and Africa.
