CISER Summit in Nigeria

The team of CISER Nigeria and Trans4m met in Lagos for two days for a series of meetings, altogether shaping the agenda of CISER towards “Integral Banking for the Common Good”. …

Dr. Basheer Oshodi, Folusho Titiloye, Jubril and Yusuf Adeojo, as well, as, partly, Akeem Oyewale got together, including also architect John Ochogwu. They were joined by Ronnie Lessem and Alexander Schieffer. This “CISER summit” was important to consolidate the multiple activities of CISER. Its emerging focus on “Integral Banking for the Common Good” reflects the professional background of all current CISER members as Bankers. This focus is underpinned by the ambition to evolve CISER further towards an “Integral University” becoming thereby a hub of knowledge consolidation and creation – in relation to finance, enterprise, and banking, in an authentic African style.

Bridges between CISER Nigeria and ACIRD Nigeria (founded by Father Anselm Adodo) were further strengthened, reflected in the personal presence of CISER Co-Founder Dr. Basheer Oshodi at Father Anselm’s VIVA presentations few days earlier, and the participation of CISER members in the conference at University of Ibadan, on the previous days. Furthermore, a meeting with the Dean of the Housing Institute at the University of Lagos was held, to discuss ways for innovative financial products to support low cost, integral housing solutions for economically marginalised parts of Nigerian society.

CISER is thereby aiming to strengthen its catalytic function in between conventional banking institutions, communities and universities – altogether stimulating innovative transsectoral solutions in between multiple stakeholders – always with a view to bring about new forms of banking and finance that truly benefit society.
