Trans4m meets University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s Premier University

Under the local leadership of Trans4m Fellow and ACIRD Founder Father Dr. Anselm Adodo, Trans4m was officially received at Nigeria’s iconic University of Ibadan for talks on a shared Transformation Studies program.

Ibadan University’s Vice Chancellor welcomed Father Adodo and Trans4m officially and in an opening conversation expressed his support for a cooperation between Ibadan University and Trans4m.

Over the previous months, and under the joint leadership of University of Ibadan’s Institute for African Studies (IAS), (directed by Prof. Layiwola and Dr. Femi Jegede) and ACIRD, a draft curriculum for a locally rooted Transformation Studies program, based on Trans4m’s Integral Worlds approach had been prepared. This cooperation was discussed in a half-day interactive workshop presided by Prof. Layiwola, that included official presentations by Trans4m Fellow Father Adodo and Trans4m. Trans4m focused in particular on the need for an alternative (Mode 2) university design for Nigeria and the role that Integral Research could play as a framework at the heart of the Transformation Studies program, in order to co-create widespread change processes.

Trans4m Fellows  and CISER Nigeria members Jubril Adeojo and Folusho Titiloye were also invited, and shared with participants their own application of Integral Research to transform the Nigerian banking model.

The meeting was attended by over 30 faculty of the Institute of African Studies, and Prof. Layiwola and Dr. Jegede expressed their keen commitment to take this cooperation further and to mobilise the necessary resources to make it happen.
