24 January 2020: A committed group of Egyptian Changemakers makes a powerful integral mark by building up an Innovation Community to serve their Society
We are launching this video on the occasion of the International Day of Education to showcase how an alternative approach to transformative education can stimulate large-scale personal and societal change.
This short video is about the set-up of an innovation community, comprised of an inspiring team of highly engaged Egyptian changemakers across many ages, eager to make an integral contribution to their society. This newly emerging community is based on individual motivations to effect change, a range of inspiring projects and the co-creative spirit of mutual-support.
At the heart of the development of EGIC were two workshops in 2019, hosted by Goethe Institut in Cairo, and led by TRANS4M’s co-founder Alexander Schieffer, with the strong support of Mohammed El Sayed Khalil, working as local mentor to the group participants and their projects.
TRANS4M’s GENE-IUS model – an integral process to enable dedicated changemakers to identify, develop and manifest their unique contributions to community and society – served as journey map for the members of EGIC.
This video, produced by Egyptian photographer and change agent, Islam “Shady” Safwat, with support of cultural heritage expert Dr. Mohamed Senousy, both members of the Egyptian Gene-ius Innovation Community, serves to provide a first overview on the process, to share the EGIC spirit and to invite support and participation of like-minded Social Innovators, in Egypt and in the World.
